    The Medication Technician will be responsible for medication administration and will be a front-line employee offering personal care services to the residents of our Assisted Living facility.     Position: Administrator of Assisted Living (The Haven)

    Summary of Position:

    The Administrator of Assisted Living will be responsible to the Executive Director for the directing, coordinating, managing and supervising of all operations at The Haven, a Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE). This will include oversight of operations, managing both the income and expense budgets, and working with residents and their families in securing their highest level of assisted living.

    Essential Duties:

    • Work with the Executive Director in order to develop and maintain the policies and procedures for the successful operation of the Assisted Living Facilities.
    • Responsible for keeping the occupancy numbers at optimal levels.

    Job Summary

    The position is responsible to the Director of Nursing or designee to provide nursing services on the assigned unit to assure quality of care according to Bethany policies and procedures. The Charge Nurses are in charge of the facility in the absence of administrative or supervisory staff. Their responsibilities include taking charge in an emergency of any kind and directing activities toward the safety and security of the residents according to policy and procedure in the emergency and disaster plan.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. (Other duties may be assigned.)

    • Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of patient.
    • Takes temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal and assess condition of patient.
    • Responds to life saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol.
    • Maintain compliance with regulations established for professional licensure and for facility licensure.
    • Attend shift report and count narcotics at the beginning and end of each shift.
    • Accurate pouring and timely administration of all medications and immediate charting of them in accordance with established procedures.
    • Carrying out all treatment orders and changing of dressings as ordered by the resident's physician.

    • Ensure that diets are served as prescribed.

    • Monitor bowel schedule for each resident and assign bowel care to CNA's in accordance with the physician's orders.
    • Provide daily bowel list and follow-up with PM shift.
    • Monitor Hemoccult to ensure compliance.
    • Monitor Meal percentages.
    • Properly note physician's orders, receive telephone orders and handle in accordance with established policy.
    • Assure proper catheter care and change catheters according to physician's orders.
    • Maintain resident's records in accordance with established procedures, including daily charting when appropriate, weekly summaries, skin assessment, updating according to schedule, nursing care plans, and monitoring proper charting by nurse assistants.
    • Verbally communicate daily to nursing assistant’s specific treatments, special orders, and nursing care procedures to be carried out for each resident.
    • Monitor nursing staff for implementation of resident’s plan for care, expected outcome and the quality of care according to Bethany Home expectations.
    • Give complete report on patients' condition, needs, orders, medication, and activity to the on-coming nursing personnel. Keep 24-hour report form up to date.
    • Any other tasks which might be assigned by the supervisor.

    Education and/or Experience

    Completion of a California State Certified RN.

    Summary of Position:

    The Terraces Nurse is responsible for ensuring the provision of high-quality services to our residents, which includes medication management, assistance with activities of daily living, care planning, case management, coordination of healthcare services and staff management and training.

    Essential Duties:

    • Ensure resident/patient, visitor, and co-worker safety by remaining aware of and reporting any new or existing safety hazards.
    • Recruit, hire, train, coach, and evaluate Med Tech’s and Resident Assistants. Maintain appropriate numbers of employees in each classification of full-time and part-time as indicated by the budget.
    • Demonstrates knowledge and awareness of rehabilitative and preventative aspects of care and ensures resident safety, comfort and protection.

    • Promptly reviews, revises and confirms staff assignments at the beginning of the shift, to ensure all residents are assigned a caregiver. Make rounds every 3-4 hours to assess the resident's clinical condition and productivity of the assigned staff.
    • Notify MD, family, administrative staff and direct Med Tech’s and Resident Assistants of resident's change in condition and necessary follow-up.
    • Completes census information as required.

    Qualifications

    Position: Driver

    Summary of Position:

    Drive community vehicles to different locations as scheduled by the Administrator or Activity Director. This includes assisting residents in and out of the vehicle, driving the vehicle, operating and securing wheelchairs and other assistive devices safely and making sure residents return safely.

    Essential Duties:

    • Schedule outside appointments within specified driving radius and allotted time frame.
    • Maintain paperwork related to the community vehicles including mileage logs, charge slips and maintenance slips.
    • Practice good and safe driving habits when transporting residents.
    • Report all incidents with vehicles or residents to the Administrator or Activities Director.
    • Maintenance of the vehicles including vacuuming, washing and engine care. Notify Administrator of any need for repairs or other concerns.
    • Participate in voluntary and mandatory on-going education and in-service training.
    • Under emergency situations assist with resident transfers or evacuation procedures under the coordination of the person in charge.

    Summary of Position:

    This part-time position will be under the general supervision of the Terraces Administrator and will also have responsibilities to other managers and staff in the Administrative Office. The Concierge will serve as the primary point of contact for persons coming into the Terraces and will be responsible for accomplishing a wide variety of clerical work.

    Essential Duties:

    • Receive and screen telephone communications.
    • Greet and direct people who come into the reception area.

    Position: Housekeeper/Laundry

    Position Type: Full Time/Part Time Non-Exempt

    Salary Range: $16.50-$18.00 per hour

    Summary of Position:

    This position performs housekeeping and laundry duties of a detailed nature that ensures a high standard of cleanliness. The Housekeeper/Laundry position is responsible for cleaning and maintaining floors, carpets, fixtures, doors, windows, laundry rooms, restrooms, patios, and all other common areas of the Terraces.

    Essential Duties:

    • Clean and maintain hallway floors, upstairs and downstairs in the building, including all stairs and elevator.
    • Perform laundry service.
    • Dusting of all hallway areas, furniture, pictures, lights, railings, silk plants and vacuuming of carpeted areas, as well as the mopping of floors in public restrooms, laundry rooms, and other non-carpeted areas.
    • Cleaning public restrooms (toilets, sinks, mirrors) may need to be done on a daily basis to uphold a high level of cleanliness, including restocking of paper towels, toilet tissue, and emptying of wastebaskets.
    • Cleaning and dusting of lobby area, office, and mail area, including emptying of all waste baskets.
    • Cleaning, dusting and organizing of meeting/assembly room, keeping the counter and sink areas free of clutter, sanitizing counters and soft scrubbing sink. Keep outside of refrigerator clean and organize inside of fridge once a month.
    • Cleaning of all laundry rooms which include floors, washers and dryers, and checking on lint accumulation in dryers.
    • Cleaning interiors of all windows, sills, verticals when needed. Clean interior and exteriors of all glass doors.
    • Clean interior walls and carpet of elevator.
    • Clean outside front lobby area and back patio area and central patio area when needed. This includes wiping down patio tables and chairs.
    • Responsible for the proper care and safe use of housekeeping supplies and equipment.
    • Maintain a clean and organized supply area and notifies Manager of needed supplies.
    • Set up and take down tables and chairs for special events.
    • Remove carpet spots as necessary.
    • Clean and sanitize drinking fountain.
    • Identify maintenance needs and report those to the Administrator.
    • Assist and performs other duties as needed.

  • Medication Technician

    Position: Medication Technician

    Department: The Terraces

    Position Type: Full Time/Part Time Non-Exempt

    Salary Range: $18.00-$20.00 per hour

    Summary of Position:

    The Medication Technician will be responsible for medication management and assisting with administration of medications and will be a front-line employee offering personal care services to the residents of the Terraces. They will be responsible to the Administrator of the Terraces, a Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE). This will include working with the other Medication Technicians and Caregivers to ensure that resident needs pertaining to the activities of daily living are met.

    Essential Duties:

    • Set up and assist with administration of medication. Must ensure there are no unattended medications anywhere in the facility.
    • Document medication taken and not taken in an accurate and timely manner.
    • Notify the Terraces Nurse of any medication ordering issues.
    • Maintain Medication Technician certification.
    • Follow facility’s policies and procedures for Medication Administration.
    • Report on shift when expected / stay until shift ends.
    • Always use safety measures for resident and self when using body mechanics.
    • Assist with safe transfer to and from bed, chair, sofa, commode, walker
    • Follow basic hygiene and infection control practices; a list of which will be reviewed and distributed to all staff.
    • Contribute to a positive, healthy, and safe living and work environment.
    • Protect the confidentiality and security of all resident information.
    • Document daily care notes.
    • Maintain calendar / organize mail.
    • Recognize emergencies and have knowledge of emergency procedures associated with what is presented.
    • Attend paid mandatory staff events / training and meetings.
    • Engage in mental exercise.
    • Report significant changes in a resident’s needs.
    • Implement resident care plan(s).
