Frequently Asked Questions
-
Who is Bethany?
We are a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit, public benefit corporation, established in 1963, licensed under the State of California as a Multi-level Retirement Community for the elderly. We are governed by a volunteer Board of Directors whose number one goal is to satisfy the needs of the residents.
-
What exactly is a Multi-Level Retirement Community?
Simply put, we have many levels of care available to meet the needs of the elderly. It is a continuum of care; from independent living, all the way to skilled nursing care.
-
What are the advantages of living in a Multi-Level Retirement Community
We have experienced staff at every level, and can offer enhanced care due to the teamwork approach. When you become a resident of the Bethany family, you receive top priority for entrance into the higher levels of care when needed.
-
Is there a waiting list to get in?
Yes and No! It certainly is not the three-year wait that has been rumored in the community. Openings become available on what seems like a cyclical basis.
-
What makes Bethany different from other facilities?
As an agency with a mission that is distinctly Christian, we offer care that is not readily found at other facilities.
-
Is Bethany part of a larger chain?
No. We are a stand-alone organization, with only one location in Ripon, CA.
-
Are medical services located nearby?
There is an optometrist, two dentists, and a medical office with three doctors; all located within one block of Bethany.
-
Do I need to be of a particular ethnic or religious group in order to live at Bethany?
No. We provide services without regard to race, creed, national origin, age or handicap.
-
How many residents does Bethany currently serve?
The resident population today approximates 400, living in multi-levels of care; apartments, assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, and adult day services. We also have 230 staff members who diligently serve the needs of our residents.
-
How do I apply for admission?
An application form can be obtained by contacting any of the managers of the various levels. When the form is completed, you will be contacted by our staff. No fees are involved until such time as one commits to moving into an available opening.
-
Why would I want to move into Bethany?
Because you deserve the comfort, security and fellowship of living in a Christian atmosphere, knowing that your needs will be taken care of.
